Her Favorite thing to Do!

My sister Erin LOOOVVEESSS SOCCER! I don't know what she would do without it.
She's been playing since she was 7 years old...that's 8 years!

She's probably the fastest runner in the history of teenage girls, and can kick that ball far!

It's so much fun to watch her team play. They work together, communicate, and of course use the
occasional tricks. :)

Last week, Erin's best friend & I were able to go watch her play. Unfortunately they lost, but it an awesome game to watch. And then last weekend, their team made it to the championship and got 2nd place!

Keep your game strong sister!

God Bless the U.S.A. {2013}

Our family doesn't have annual 4th of July celebrations.

In the past we've gone to a Christian camp with friends and our families spent time together celebrating with a cookout, s'mores, games, and late fireworks. Everything to the max. RED WHITE & BLUE.

Sometimes we'd go visit with family and buy some fireworks. Or go to my grandparents' cabin on a lake and swim and grill food.

Last year, Erin and I were blessed to be able to go on a youth trip and enjoy a few fireworks in New Orleans, LA.

But this year...we kept it low key. And that's what we need most times. I had a few things in mind and waited for the sun to finally set in our nook of the neighborhood.

And soon it was getting a little more golden...deeper...darker. Then the sun said it's final goodnight and I started getting things set up.

We attempted to start a bonfire (didn't last very long), and make a couple s'mores.

Also bought a handful of sparklers and those went pretty well. Now I sit in our cozy & cool house, smelling of bug spray, and thanking God that I get to live in this country. For our fathers who built this country and that God was our foundation in the beginning.

"Because there is no doubt, I love this land...
...God bless the U.S.A."

Hurry up, It's true!

So GFC (Google Friend Connect) actually is shutting down...TODAY! Which means you won't be able to follow blogs anymore through Google.

Don't give up hope though!
You can go to bloglovin.com and make an account within 5 minutes. It imports all your Google blogs for you and you can still read new posts from the blogs you follow.

After today you won't get to directly see my new posts, and I would love for you to keep reading! I mean 54 followers is awesome! So you can click right here to keep following my blog via bloglovin'!

Us bloggers are especially sad to see GFC go.

Celebrating My Dad {2013}

Wow. And Father's Day is here again already. 2013.

My dad is awesome. He works hard. He's a follower of Jesus. His sense of humor is unique and he makes me laugh everyday. He is loved by everyone. He's a helper. He's a good cook. He could fix anything. He loves old cars. He puts others before him. He loves his family & we love him!

Dad, I don't know what I would do without you. You're always there to cheer me up and give advice.
You're the BEST dad I could ever have been given. Love you!

Watch What You're Sayin'

You look within the small crack of your bedroom door, down the hall, and into the kitchen where you hear their voices.

Arguing. Mad. Yelling. Then you hear those words they tell you not to say. The extra bad words.

But they're setting that example for you. And now you're 17 yelling those words back at them because they won't let you go to a party. And you just run back into that same room you were in those nights you heard them fighting.

So instead what are you going to do? Change? Fix it? Because you know they regret that decision for you to hear those words. You don't want your teachers, your grandparents, your mentors, or your God to hear those words anymore.

You set the example. The example that may or may not have been set for you in the past. Be the one who can show others what to say.

Whether they are swear words, mean words, rude words pointed to others, or hurtful words. Don't say them.

Say the kind words, encouraging words, thoughtful words, and good words to lift other people up.

Because I know the more you don't say bad words, the more it becomes a habit. And then you forget them. Sort of. You know that they are there but you choose to no longer spit them from your mouth. Because you made the decision to not say them.

Watch what you're sayin'. Make sure you would want to hear your own words spoken to you, before you say them.

What a Difference a Year Can Make

My bro's!
Scout has different glasses & his big teeth are in.
And Jace is just himself. Shy and simple...Although it looks like he actually got some meat on his bones. :)
My sister Erin - I think it's hilarious how she wore the same outfit. (she didn't even do it on purpose)
No braces & different haircut and makeup.
AND me! :) No braces, shorter hair, & I'm a little tanner. :)

Crazy how in just one school year (9 months) you can change. School's officially been out for 12 days!
