I'm a Shopper!

I love shopping! I like to find the cutest clothes but for the best price. I already have way a lot of clothes and don't need to shop all the time, but this is fun!

You can head on over to Polyvore, and "shop" with out spending any money. It's so much fun! All I do is create 'sets', which is an outfit that you can make. Choose from anything you want...dresses, purses, jewlery, shoes etc. It's so much fun!

Here are some of my creations:

Hope you have just as much fun as I do!

Going Back in Black & White

This week is my family!

We have changed a lot. We went from 3-8 in the last 15 years. Crazy.

We've been through challenges & heartbreak together, and also joy & busyness.

Since the day I was born,

to the days the next 2 siblings were born,

to the day my little sister Laura Grace went to heaven (baby #4),

to the day we welcomed our second little boy in the world,

to the day we brought my littlest sister home from Ethiopia.

We are family! Through thick & thin. :)

Going Back in Black & White

Going Back in Black and White - Week 2

This week, I'm doing my cousin Anna! I love her a million!

We've been best friends (cousins) since birth! She's about 13 months older than me, and we're super close.

We've grown up together, learned from each other, and gone through a lot together. :)

Some things I love about her:

She's crazy
Not afraid to say how it is
Will say anything - awkward or not
Outgoing
Strong
A good big sister
Leader
She's a good listener
A very good Christ follower

She inspires me, and I wish I could see her more often. We don't live that far apart, but we're both teenagers - We lead very busy lives! :)

LOVE YOU ANNA!

Chicago Tour 2012! {Part 3}

If you haven't read my first 2 posts about my Chicago choir trip, then just click on the links below:

___________________________________________________________________________

The next morning we actually got to sleep in and be lazy for a couple hours after breakfast, because we didn't have to check out of our hotel until 11:00. :) It was super nice, and we definitely needed some extra rest. After everyone had eaten breakfast, got ready, packed up their things, and cleaned up their rooms... We all went downstairs. We all signed a Chicago poster, and we're going to hang it up in our choir/band room at school!
The lobby in our hotel - Embassy Suites

It was a really nice hotel, and they had super good service. We stayed on the 4th & 5th floors

We checked out of our hotel on time, and then we headed to a mall to go shopping for about an hour. It was a nice break to walk around, and get a snack if you wanted. Then, we were finally on our way to the last stop of the trip. We were going to another charter school in Chicago, and our band/choir were going to perform for them, and then their band/choir would perform for us. :) We all did great! It was very fun to perform for each other, and we also got to have a pizza party with them.

On the bus, ready to perform for the other school

The weather was super nice, and we had to stay in our "uniforms" for half the day. It got up to about 70F and we were all so hot. We couldn't wait to change, and get comfortable on the bus for our ride home.

We all said goodbye and thank you to the other school, loaded the buses, changed [finally] for the trip home, and we were headed back for home. :(

Good bye Chicago!

We had an amazing trip, and couldn't ask for a better one! We learned more about each other, and learned more about music too! It was a very fun and interesting trip! I hope that we're able to do another one next year!

Chicago Tour 2012! {Part 2}

If you didn't read my first post on my choir Chicago trip you can go here to read it!

___________________________________________________________________________

After we all ate breakfast the next morning, everyone got onto the buses and we were off! We went to a retirement home, and the choir sang for an audience of some older people. It went really well, and they were so happy to see us. They rarely ever get visitors, and we were glad that we could make their day just by singing a few songs and visiting with them.

On the bus

Then we went to the Museum of Science and Industry. I'm glad that we didn't have to take a tour! We all took a picture outside of the museum and then went it. The whole trip we had to wear matching red polos, and black pants. So everywhere we went, we were all matching - We got quite a few stares from people. So as we entered the museum, we went in as small groups, ate lunch, and then got to walk around for 2 hours.

A scale model of Chicago

This was called "yesterday's mainstreet". It was like an old town, in the museum

Showing "PACT" which was on a newspaper in the museum - Also the name of our school :)

This is me by a really big submarine

Naomi on a fake cow, in the barn section of the museum - She's so cute

After the museum, we headed to Vandercook College of Music. The choir sat in on a normal college choir rehearsal and the band played for a band master and she gave them tips on how to do better. It was really interesting!

Then we headed to Michigan Avenue to do some shopping, and then we went to Buca de Beppos for a family style dinner. The food was so good! It was a really nice restaurant, and we were happy to have some real food - besides fast food. After dinner, we headed to see The Blue Man Group perform!! We weren't allowed to take pictures or videos during their performance, but we got to take pictures with them after the show.

We got the first 4 rows in the theater and it was so much fun! They do the most fun, and random things ever! There are 3 guys, and they are so funny! During the show the guy in the picture above, picked up a bouquet of fake flowers and then picked out one of the flowers and handed it to me! :) The funny thing is that they never have an expression on their faces. They don't smile, laugh, frown, or anything - So when he handed me the flower, I was smiling and he wasn't... It was kind of weird, but really fun!

The show went until about 9:30, and we didn't get back to the hotel until about 10:45. We were all pretty tired, but this was one of the busiest days of the whole trip. Once we were all back in our hotel rooms, our room chaperone came and gave us info for the next day. It would be our last day in Chicago. :( There was still a busy day ahead,  but we were sad to be leaving.

Part 3 coming tomorrow! Hope you've enjoyed reading it so far! :)

Chicago Tour 2012! {Part1}

So last week I did a post about school. I mentioned that I would be going to Chicago for my Choir trip for school. I also mentioned it on facebook.

So on Monday morning I got to my school at 7:30 AM to say goodbye to my dad, pack up a bus, find my seats with my friends, and leave for an 8 hour bus trip to Chicago! IT WAS AMAZING!

We also went with the band, and took 2 coach buses to head down to Chicago. I couldn't ask for better friends, a better bus, better teachers, or a better trip. It was soooo much fun!

On the bus, watching Tangled

Rain clouds that were parting... It rained most of the way to Chicago

Entering Chicago

Once we got into Chicago, our first stop was the Skydeck! It's the tallest tower in the country, and we got to go to the very top! It was amazing!

The tower we were going into
This was a sign in the building that we toured - It actually said Chicago, but they made it look like "chic". :)

This was in the elevator, we went up 103 floors

All these pictures are from the skydeck - It was so high up

Next, it was off to Navy Pier!! It's basically a mall and it's 2 1/2 miles long! We had to stay in groups of 3 or more, and it was a blast! We ate dinner, and then enjoyed some shopping & walking around. :)

Navy Pier at night

Then it was off to the hotel after a busy day of traveling and sight seeing. We immediately grabbed our things, and headed straight to our rooms. I stayed with 4 other girls, and we were the last ones up the elevator and to our room. It was so nice to finally be some where to stay! We unpacked, some people went swimming, and then it was time to relax and go to bed.

Can you believe we did that in one day?! I couldn't either, but it was fun and so worth it! I wish I could do the whole trip in one post, but that would be a lot of information to take in. Hopefully I can finish it in Part 2 and if not there will be a Part 3. Thanks for reading, and more to come!

Going Back in Black & White

Going Back in Black and White - Week 1

My Grandpa is someone I really look up to! He inspires me to do my best, he's a great roll model, and I love him a lot! We've been "best buds" since forever. He's hard working, wise, and strong.

He could fix anything, anywhere, at anytime. He could fix your garage door, paint your whole house, re-furnish your dresser, fence in your whole yard, or put shingles on your house.

He's just that incredible! I know this, because we've probably asked him to do everything from the above list.

Looking back, I couldn't ask for a better grandpa! He's taught me so much, and loves me for who I am! :)
