He was Protecting Us

I'm pretty sure most of you know that I have my drivers license. I turned 16 in November, and got my license in January.

Just about 4 weeks ago, I was involved in my first ever car accident.

My parents have been in quite a few accidents, but never when they had kids.

Thank goodness it wasn't my fault, and that everyone was perfectly ok.

I was on my way to school with both of my brothers in the back seat.

I was getting ready to merge onto the busy highway from a backroad about 5 minutes from our house.

As I was waiting for it to clear, I noticed that there was a bus in the left lane and that it was clear for me to get into the right lane.

Well, about 3 seconds after I was fully in the lane the bus passed me, and the car behind it was trying to change lanes, but since he hadn't seen me merge earlier he hit me in the front/side.

He was going around 60 mph and since I was still speeding up I was going around 40 mph.

Once he hit me (on the drivers side) it popped my front tire and spun me around. That would put me facing oncoming traffic.

It all happened so fast...the only part I really remember at that direct moment was; I heard a loud crash and thought "What on earth just happened?! No...I couldn't of just gotten in an accident."

Did I mention that my parents had surprised me with a car...just 10 days before this happened? I didn't? Oh well they did and yes I was driving it that day...

I couldn't restart my car and so I was stuck facing backwards in the middle of the lane with no help accept my mom who I had just called to tell her what happened.

After being turned around, frantically trying to restart my car, and balling my eyes out I had to figure out two things: "Are my brothers ok?" & "How bad is the car?"

I spun around and saw both of my brothers conscious, not bleeding, and not even crying. They actually cried less than I did...

A couple minutes later 2 ladies who had seen the accident came rushing towards me, called 911, and made sure everyone was ok. It was quite the scene!
I did hit my head on the side window and so I had a small bruise and my neck was sore and my youngest brother also bumped his ear on the window, but that was about the extent of any injuries what so ever.

God was not only protecting me & my brothers, but also the other guy and his young daughter.

He didn't come up to me or ask me if I was ok, but my mom did ask his wife if him or his daughter were hurt and that was about it.

I was so shooken up about everything that looking back... half of it was a blur and and at the same time I remember everything. (obviously because I'm writing this post)

After working everything out with insurance, being asked many questions, and waiting for the "shock" to wear off...things are 98% back to normal.

Whenever my brothers are in the car with me and we get home safely, Scout (the youngest bro) will announce "We made it and we're back in one piece!!" :) Haha oh dear I traumatized them...kinda...not really.

I know for a fact that the accident could of been a lot worse, and that Jesus sent his angels down. The thought of anyone getting seriously injured or even dying makes me emotional.

It's hard to think about sometimes, but when I breathe a little prayer I know that Jesus is always with me no matter what. Whether it's driving, eating, sleeping, or working.

If you read the whole thing, I applaud you! :)

A Nomination, End of semester, & Drivers license Kind of Week

I did say I was going to be busy this week...

And BUSY I was!

I also said that there would be great stories and I do have those as well.

Here's a look into my busy week!

I mentioned before that our first semester of school was ending and Thursday was the last day! We are on a nice 4-day weekend break!! Which means it was full of tests, projects, and all late homework was due by the end of the day.

Little brother hard at work :)

Took a break and played some intense scrabble with my sister!

I also mentioned in my last post that I was looking for a Snowdaze dress. Well I found one and thought I would give you a little sneak peek. :)

P.S. I also found out that I was nominated as one of the top 3 girls in my grade for Snowdaze Princess!
Oh and my amazing friend Megan was nominated too!! :)

Since this week wasn't stressful enough *sarcastic cough*, I also decided I was going to try my license test again. For those of you who don't know...I failed the first time at the end of December. I PASSED! Woooo I am now a licensed driver! :)

So it might  not seem stressful or busy, but put youth group, teaching AWANA at church, late nights, and a nerve attacking license test allll together and that's what you have! :)

I also got my braces off! (a whole other post about that coming in a few days)

Oh and I'm also guest posting right here today! Would love for you stop by Emma's blog and check it out!

Missing.

Hi everyone.

I have about 3 posts in drafts right now.

Some touch ups and 1 click will give you some posts about my oh-so-crazy life.

You guys are fantastic! I seriously don't know what I would do without followers.

My blog would be so boring. But not useless, because it's a special place for me.

Anyway...I have been missing. Don't worry...I am still here. Alive and healthy.

Just wanted to give you a heads-up that I'll probably be missing most of this week as well.

My mom needs some prayers...not feeling so well and has gone to the doctor's office more than once.

I'm finishing up behind the wheel and then my license test is on Friday...eeeekkk people! I need some prayers on that too. To do my very best, not be nervous, and passing would seal the deal.

I still have holiday shopping to do. Urgh...why does everything have to get done all at once?

LOTS of finals and tests this week. I'm not in college, but I go to a college prep school and trust me... The academics are exhausting. seriously. teenagers need a break.

I guess that's why CHRISTMAS BREAK STARTS IN APPROXIMATELY 4 DAYS! Thursday is our last day, and then we'll top it off with some basketball games that night to support are small but always entertaining school.

Talk to you on Friday after my test, to let you know how everything goes...that is if I survive. :)

Hope your holidays are just as busy & I'm not going crazy!

New Orleans Day 7

We traveled through the night, driving through Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee. We arrived in Missouri at about 7 am. Many of us still sleeping on the seats, laying on the floor, talking to our friends, or staring out the window. Our eyes still looking sleepy and our bodies not ready for a busy day yet.

Matt wearing 8 pairs of sunglasses - Fun times! :)

Once we ate some breakfast, we met back in the bus for another 4 hours drive to our next destination... Six Flags!! For those of you who have not heard of Six Flags, it is an amusement park. There are several throughout the United States, but the one we got to go to was in St. Louis. The thing was... Friday was 106F outside, with strong humidity. We all had to drink one water bottle before we headed in our small groups. We also had to each have a water bottle, be checking on each other for headaches or nausea, put lots of sunscreen on, and drink even more water.

*Thanks to Kayla for the Six Flags pics*

It was a great day enjoyed by all, and tomorrow we would all arrive home to our families. God had worked on every single one of our hearts, and we couldn't thank Him enough for the amazing opportunity we gave us. This trip was incredible! A video coming soon of our fun trip... it's just not quite ready. :)

Spring Break is Here!

That's right! It's SPRING BREAK! It hasn't even been a full 6 hours and it's already been great!

My littlest sister was over at somebody's house today - So it was just the 4 of us and mom this afternoon. We went to get something at my dad's work, stopped at Target, got Subway, and headed home!

It's been very relaxing and really fun. My mom is the best! She's losing her voice, is feeling sick, and was feeling kind of drowsy. So I volunteered to drive for her (since I have my permit) and got some good practice in. Every single time I drive, I learn something new, or something that I need to work on. :) That's was practice is for though right?

Is anyone else on Spring Break? I'd love to hear what your plans are!

I'm back!

Well this week has been quite crazy! On Monday I got my iPod taken away for not doing what my mom wanted. I just stayed on it, until she finally said "give it to me". Well of course knowing me... I had a
"There's NO WAY you're taking this from me" fight  an argument with her about it. I just got it back yesterday!

On Tuesday I had sooo many things to do in school. Luckily I basically have a study hall in my third hour. My teacher is really flexible, and I got a lot done for other classes too. I also had a Spanish test and it went pretty good. I'm so glad when classes are quiet and you could just fall asleep without getting in trouble. ;)

On Wednesday my parents talked and said that I won't be able to have my iPod at night. It really stinks because I usually listen to music when I go to bed. It made me sooo mad! I understood in my head argued because I totally disagreed. Oh well... There's no way I can change it, and yes I have found a way to fall asleep these past few nights.

On Thursday it was pretty low key. Out of all the days of our 5 day week this was the longest day ever! I think everyone I asked said they were tired, and since we have so many semester projects coming up the classes are really boring. I think everyone was happy for that day to pass.

On Friday, I left school 30 minutes early to go take my permit test. I was soo nervous, and just didn't know what to expect. It's on a touch screen computer and only 40 questions. Unfortunately, I didn't pass this time... I was pretty bummed but tried to stay positive. Some of the questions I don't even remember studying so I hope to study more and pass the next I take it. Wish me luck!!

Hope everyone else had a great, and not so long week!

Drivers Ed

I started Drivers Ed last Monday! Monday-Thursday, and then I started again this week. Monday-Thursday... Now I have a little "break" for the 3 day weekend. Woot woot!

Next week, I'll be doing it Monday & Tuesday then I'll be done! That will make up 30 hours of classroom time! We've just been working on packets and today was our last packet. We finished our test from the state manuel and now only two. days. left.

Eeekkk! I've had a lot of fun with it. My class has 11 people including me. We're all very different, so we enjoy cracking jokes and helping each other out. :)

I think I'll be taking my test sometime next week, but still not sure because it's the week of Thanksgiving and we don't know how late they will be open. I've been very busy because I go straight to the class right after school and it's for 3 hours each day. So I don't get home until about 6:30. It can get very long...

The weekend couldn't come soon enough and I can't wait to finish up my last couple days so I can finally drive! :)

Have a great night everyone!
