Homecoming Queen {2014}

It's my senior year guys...You have to go all out for senior year! Whether it's helping the freshmen, making a fool of yourself, being a role model, or dancing crazy...Just have a blast and make some memories you won't forget! In this case, all of the above happened at our annual Homecoming Dance.

This year it was a Sadie Hawkins theme, which means the girls ask the guys to the dance. Of course you don't have to go with a date (like me) and it's still a blast. The senior guys (some of my best friends) all went to the local thrift store, bought some crazy stuff, and came to the dance all ready to have some fun. :) Otherwise, the dress code was "country" or "casual".

I have never been to the Homecoming dance before...It was my first and last homecoming dance and this year I was nominated with 2 other girls and 3 guys from the senior class, for homecoming royalty.

Twice a year we have secondary (9th-12th gr) dances, not including PROM. And every dance we nominate 3 guys and 3 girls from each grade for royalty. For homecoming, they just do the seniors and it was such a blast! They announce us at the pepfest and we get to play a little game in the gym, in front of the whole secondary side. (7th-12th gr. including teachers)

Me and co-captain Hannah (#6) announcing the varsity volleyball team...Our girls like to have fun :)

Senior girl royalty nominees

The pepfest is 30 mins and then school is dismissed. That night, our school hosts the Homecoming Dance and that starts at 7pm. As everyone comes to the door, they vote for 1 guy and 1 girl from the senior nominees to become homecoming king and queen. Coronation starts at 7:45pm...

Left to Right: Kevin, me, Ryan, Emma, Cam, & Megan (yes she has a slushie)

Drum roll please......................................

Kevin was crowned king and I was crowned queen :)

It was such a fun night and we made lots of memories! Senior year has been a whirlwind of never ending fun and craziness and I'm loving every bit of it. Just to top it off, here are a few more fun pictures from Homecoming night.

The Wounds He Gave Me

We would talk for hours. Whether it was in person, via text, or on the phone. He made me laugh & thought I was pretty. We'd known each other our whole lives. Gone to church together forever. He was always the one to cheer me back up if I had a bad day. It lasted for a while as we got to know each other better but soon it wasn't the same anymore. I knew that God was telling me to take a couple steps back. To live my life without a "him" for a while. So I told him that I wasn't ready. Not for a closer relationship that he was hoping for. And it seemed that I broke his heart in that moment. Soon time passed faster than I thought and the rift between us just got bigger. He moved on in our hometown's public school and I started a charter school 30 minutes away. We didn't talk. Ever really. He got a girlfriend and I just made a lot of great friends...guys & girls. When I thought the storm was over...it came back. Rumors. Horrible and hurtful rumors about me. Stuff that he told other people. And soon friends from church knew...some of my best friends. They were hearing untruthful things about me. Because...well I don't know why he said them. Popularity? Girls? Ego? I don't know. But I'm a strong girl. I don't let that stuff get to me and usually it doesn't come to me because I. hate. drama. I pushed it aside but trusted my parents and told them what my friends had heard him say. And before I knew it...there I was in a tiny room with our youth pastor asking him about these rumors. I thought I knew him. That guy just a year or 2 ago that would never do anything like this to hurt me. Who made me feel so special. But I guess he changed. The thing that hurt the most was that he denied it...allllll of it. That he didn't talk to anyone about "our history" and didn't say any of the rumors that I asked him about. He said that some of them weren't my business; that they had nothing to do with me. Ummm excuse me? If you said my name...they have everything to do with me. And my reputation that he carelessly half destroyed. Now 2 meetings down and he just sat there. And saw my tears and my confusion about this whole situation. He does nothing but deny the wounds he gave me...They hurt and sting and it's hard to take care of these wounds when they don't appear very often. But I'm finally taking care of them myself...I don't need his help or explanation to how they got there. Because I know our God is more powerful and more loving and will deal with him. But these wounds...they're on my heart. My only goal is that they don't leave a scar.

School Update

Hey everyone! It's only been about 4 days since my last update, so I think I'm ok! :)

Thought I'd update you on school for now; it's been a while since I've talked about school.

Anyway the homework is sometimes overwhelming. Some days I feel defeated and think I have no clue. (haha I've realized that most of those answers are in the text book.)

My friends are amazing! The people are average, the girls are super nice, and the boys... well I'll just say that they will always be boys. the end. Of course I haven't met everyone yet (obviously) and so I'm sure I'll have a ton more friends by the end of the year.

The teachers are all pretty nice. Not too strict, but yet they can be a little bit. In my Composition class this week, our teacher failed the whole class on the same paper, and so now we all have to redo them. Super frustrated.

Last weekend was really nice, since it was a four-day weekend due to the MEA teacher conference. Weekends are usually meant for homework in my life.

Happy because we have tomorrow off, and I barely have any homework! I'll probably finish it all tomorrow, so I can have a fun weekend! (which is jam-packed by the way)

No locker troubles anymore. (Thank you Lord!) My "locker buddy" is an 8th grader and we tend to shut each others lockers just for fun. lol don't worry neither of us have been late to any classes yet.

The lunches are usually ok, or completely "BLAH". haha but I'm not a picky eater at all. I can tell most of my friends are. :)

Science, Language, and Composition have probably been the most fun this week... Yes it usually changes weekly! Don't judge me, it's probably the same for you.

OK I'M DONE NOW. lol I'll stop boring you to death. :) Here's a quote for the day!
