Everyone got a long, the bus rides weren't too long, we got to grow more in our faith, and worship our AMAZING God! :)

T.G.I.F

Thank God it's Friday!!

Wooo! I made it through our 4 but LONG day school week, of the 2nd semester.

I don't especially enjoy most of my new classes, but I do have a few favorites.

It will be something to get used to in the next few weeks.

In my last catch up post I said I had found a Snowdaze dress...

And people the long awaited day of Snowdaze 2013 is...TOMORROW!

So I'll be posting sometime soon about all the fun details of that. :)

I just have to wait for our graphic design and publishing team/class to get the pictures on the website.

I've loved reading your blogs recently! Some favorite posts are:

Classy Girls Wear Pearls - Her posts are so great and her style is so original; I love it!

moments with love - A mom who documents her life of adoption, life, and love with 9 kiddos.

five lists on Awaken - What she loves and wants.

Life as a Missionary Kid - Just started following her and she gives a sneak peek into her life; just a little older than me.

Mr. Sassy Photoshoot at be lovely - Real life, funny, and teenage stuff; this girl is great!

EM on a Mission - Teenage girl who just moved to live in Uganda permanently to serve her Lord and be the hands and feet of Jesus to orphans.

This is so true!!

Are you glad it's Friday?

Awkward and Awesome

My good friend Brooke did this yesterday - Even though she did it on Friday, I thought I could still do it on a Saturday. :)

Awkward ---

So I'm in Language class (English - whatever it's called) and we're having this discussion. We've been talking about notes, lectures, and discussions all week long. Then, finally our teacher says "Ok we're going to have a class discussion on the notes we took about water conservation. Oh and I want to hear everyone say something." Me in my mind: "What?! I don't want to say something, I have to wait for the perfect timing to say something." We eventually start the conversation, and lots of people are saying things - funny and actually smart things too. There are 4 topics that we're talking about, and we get to the 3rd one. A couple of my friends in class: "Michlyn!! Go for it! Just make something up." Me in my mind: "Oh crap, what the heck am I going to say? Just stall as long as possible." Anyway, I finally have to say something - What I planned on saying: "Water conservation is really important. We should really pay attention to the shortages that could happen in the future. The people who wrote these papers study water, and we never really do - so it doesn't seem as important to us." What I actually said: "Well it's good to um.. to pay attention to water shortages... and we like...we don't want that to happen... but like we um... we don't really know... or um... well we don't study it...and idk it's just...yeah." SMOOTH Michlyn real nice future you got in public speaking.

Awesome ---

  • Pretty much all my homework is simple.
  • Got to babysit all day with my sister Erin, and had a lot of fun
  • School has been weirdly crazy and fun - Even though some days I could fall asleep on my desk for the whole hour, as the rest of my group talks about shoes, sports, and other off-topic things.
  • Volleyball has been sooo great, and I'm loving it.
  • My family is incredible and I just love them!
  • Instagram is becoming a common thing for me -- uh oh another addiction! :)
  • I LOVE MY FRIENDS!
  • I'm excited to do an upcoming Fall photo shoot with my best friend!!
  • I've regularly been keeping up on my devotions, and it's been so great to read what's in God's word for us every single day!
Well that is my awkward and awesome Saturday!
Hope you all have a great rest of your weekend!

Insta Weekend

It's the last day of my long weekend.

My dad had the day off.

Erin had soccer practice.

I watched 2 of my siblings for a few hours today.

We had my grandparents over for a little visit last night.

I got some much needed sleep this weekend.

Got some DQ & watched "Mirror Mirror" with my mom & Erin.

And of course kept up with my Pinterest and Facebook accounts.

Tried a fishtail braid last night for the first time - and surprise, surprise it actually turned out!

Homework is complete - YAY!

Lately, I've been focusing on doing this everyday - Everyone got one at Challenge 2012

I've heard Taylor's new single on the radio a lot lately - It's not as annoying as everyone was saying it was.

Another beautiful sunset seen from my backyard

I'm slowly started to get the hang of Instagram. :) Happy Labor Day!

At the Conference

We're here!

And it's incredible!

We left a little late yesterday, took a few U-turns, but finally found the church.

Once everyone was in and had their wristband, and was at their seat - we were able to explore a little bit.

The church. Is. Huge. I'm not kidding. So we walked around a bit, and finally went into the sanctuary right before the first session started.

The worship, the speakers, the dramas, and the students are amazing.

Dare2Share is an unforgettable experience that I hope tons and tons of teens will continue to experience!

We're loving' it, and we're pumped to start another new, and fun day (screaming will be included) at this great conference.

Hope you're all enjoying your weekend just as much as I am!

A Relaxing/Wedding/Super Bowl Weekend

Last weekend was so much fun! As most of you know, and especially for you football fans it was Super Bowl weekend! :)

Let me start from the beginning...

Friday
We had school on Friday, and a 5 day week wore. me. out. I was happy for the long week to be over (we usually only have 4 day weeks at our school) and to be able to relax. I didn't touch my homework, and was probably on the computer, TV, or my iPod for the rest of the night. I was also happy that I could stay up late, and not have to wake up early the next morning.

Saturday
Beka's cousin, Sarah got married on Saturday! I came because I was going to be watching some little girls, but they ended up not needing me. So it was a blast hanging out with Beka the rest of the night. The ceremony was beautiful, and you could tell that the groom was very nervous. At the end of the ceremony, Sarah danced down the aisle and gave a little shout when she was at the end! The reception was next, and that was probably the most fun. We ate, had a lot of kitty cocktails, and danced a ton!! SO MUCH FUN! Congrats to Blake and Sarah!

Sunday
Since we didn't get to bed until about 2:30 am after the wedding, Beka and I were extremely tired in the morning. From all the dancing, food, and fun we did not want to get up the next morning for church. We did eventually get up, got ready on time (amazing!), and helped out in the church nursery where we were needed. After the second service, Erin, Beka, and I stayed with a few other youth and adults to help for our Valentine's Dinner. We started making raviolles for the main dish, and others started making desserts. We did that for about 4 hours, and then came back for the Super Bowl Party. IT WAS A BLAST! Watched some of the game, ate some more food, played games, laughed a lot, and danced. The New York Giants took home the victory this year!

Some of it, turned into a dance party!

Hope everyone else had a good weekend!

Weekend Fun

This weekend was a blast! Had so much fun with my friends. :)

On Friday night, my sister Erin and I got to go to an event for our youth group! We got to play Infiltration and have a bonfire. We played it at a tree farm so it was a lot of fun running around and trying to sneak in items that we found from around the farm!

Can't wait for another fun event! It was a blast hanging out with everybody and I'm sure they all had a blast too. I told you our youth pastor is awesome!

On Saturday Erin and I headed to a halloween party! It was at her friend's house but there was 8th through 11th graders there! Had so much fun! We listened to music, we hung out, laughed, threw stuff at each other, ate a lot of candy, played truth or dare, and took a very crowded  ride in the back of a truck. :)

Over 10 of us teenagers (8th and 9th graders) climbed into the back of her dad's pick up truck and took a ride on a few trails behind their house. Wasn't the most comfortable thing ever, but it was still pretty fun.

Sunday was church and youth group! Since I started going to youth group on Sunday nights instead of Wednesday nights, the last one was probably my favorite one so far! Our youth pastor's message was great and then we all hung out in the gym. Some of us quickly made 2 teams and then we played kickball!

Can't wait until this weekend! Going to be hanging out on Thursday with a few friends after our Powder Puff game, and then a few things going on from Friday - Saturday! Then Sunday is youth group again..yay!

Have a good night everyone!
