Last night we had a bowling night with our youth group, and another youth group too! :)
IT. WAS. SO. MUCH. FUN.
The theme was: 80's Night Erin, Beka, and I went all out!!! Here's what we wore
Bright colors, cut off shirts, converse, leggings, short skirts, big hair, scrunchies, and lipstick! :)
We totally forgot our cameras when we actually went bowling... Oops! It was so much fun seeing everyone dress up, and hang out together. We listened to 80's music, and they turned the Black Out lights on. So everything that is brightly colored or white glows up!! Can't wait until our next bowling night...
Yesterday was Thanksgiving! We got to see almost all of our family, and we had a ton of fun! We went to my mom's side of the family first. We ate a lot of food, had laugh attacks with the cousins, watched the little ones play outside together, and the adults enjoyed each others company. Before Thanksgiving, my grandma was hoping for a big family picture. Everyone said they would be stopping by sometime through out the day so towards the end before everyone headed home we took a few!
One big crazy family. 10 adults (grandma&grandpa + 4 kids & spouses) 19 grandchildren (16 yrs. - 22 months)
It was also Scout's Birthday! He turned 6 years old - I can't believe it! Our little man was born on Thanksgiving 6 years ago, and now this was his first birthday where it actually landed on Thanksgiving again! We called him our little turkey! :) So we got to celebrate in the morning with a few presents, and then later we celebrated with lots of family.
I think I'll be posting a video of the week, every week for the next month or so. I've heard some very encouraging songs lately. Sometimes they relate to my life. Sometimes they relate to my friends. And sometimes other things... This world is very imperfect, but it's amazing how many good songs they can make! That's all. ~Michlyn
I started Drivers Ed last Monday! Monday-Thursday, and then I started again this week. Monday-Thursday... Now I have a little "break" for the 3 day weekend. Woot woot!
Next week, I'll be doing it Monday & Tuesday then I'll be done! That will make up 30 hours of classroom time! We've just been working on packets and today was our last packet. We finished our test from the state manuel and now only two. days. left.
Eeekkk! I've had a lot of fun with it. My class has 11 people including me. We're all very different, so we enjoy cracking jokes and helping each other out. :) I think I'll be taking my test sometime next week, but still not sure because it's the week of Thanksgiving and we don't know how late they will be open. I've been very busy because I go straight to the class right after school and it's for 3 hours each day. So I don't get home until about 6:30. It can get very long... The weekend couldn't come soon enough and I can't wait to finish up my last couple days so I can finally drive! :) Have a great night everyone! ~Michlyn
My mom's was birthday yesterday! We had so much fun catching up with friends that came to visit from out of state! My parents met them in Ethiopia, and we met them in Chicago last year for a mini reunion. We then went out to dinner, to celebrate the beautiful, intelligent, and Christ follower woman - My mom!
It was a blast! I wore a birthday sash to school, and got so many wishes for my birthday! I felt so blessed with so many great friends and family!
On Saturday I got to go shopping with my sister Erin, and my mom! We had a blast! Spent the whole day out together!
On Sunday I went to church then I headed with my grandma to pick up my cousin Anna for a lunch and shopping date! We had a blast hanging out! It's crazy trying to get us together! Anna and I only about 13 months apart lead very busy lives! :)
Monday was my actual birthday, and it was probably one of the best birthdays ever! Even at school...
That night I started Drivers Ed. It was so much fun! I've survived four days of it so far. That night one of my most amazing babysitters was there, and we got soup, cake, and ice cream! :) (don't worry she doesn't babysit me anymore)
I got 2 new coats! One from my grandma and one from my mom and dad! And... GUESS WHAT?! I got 4 NEW PAIRS OF SHOES!
So as I mentioned earlier... I would post about Powder Puff.
A quick definition for Powder Puff: Girls Football!
At my school we do an annual Powder Puff game every year! It's for 9th-12th graders.
Freshman & Seniors vs. Sophmores & Juniors
I'm a Freshman this year, and it was so much playing with the Seniors. It was especially exciting because the Seniors this year have won every. single. year. What was our team name? That's right! UNDEFEATED!
Did we win? YES!!!!!!!!!!!!
So the Seniors are the first ever undefeated team! Had so much fun, and was so happy for them! It's their last year of high school, so how exciting is that?
Powder Puff was amazing! Next year I'll be a Sophmore so bring it on!
This weekend was a blast! Had so much fun with my friends. :)
On Friday night, my sister Erin and I got to go to an event for our youth group! We got to play Infiltration and have a bonfire. We played it at a tree farm so it was a lot of fun running around and trying to sneak in items that we found from around the farm! Can't wait for another fun event! It was a blast hanging out with everybody and I'm sure they all had a blast too. I told you our youth pastor is awesome!
On Saturday Erin and I headed to a halloween party! It was at her friend's house but there was 8th through 11th graders there! Had so much fun! We listened to music, we hung out, laughed, threw stuff at each other, ate a lot of candy, played truth or dare, and took a very crowded ride in the back of a truck. :) Over 10 of us teenagers (8th and 9th graders) climbed into the back of her dad's pick up truck and took a ride on a few trails behind their house. Wasn't the most comfortable thing ever, but it was still pretty fun.
Sunday was church and youth group! Since I started going to youth group on Sunday nights instead of Wednesday nights, the last one was probably my favorite one so far! Our youth pastor's message was great and then we all hung out in the gym. Some of us quickly made 2 teams and then we played kickball! Can't wait until this weekend! Going to be hanging out on Thursday with a few friends after our Powder Puff game, and then a few things going on from Friday - Saturday! Then Sunday is youth group again..yay! Have a good night everyone! ~Michlyn
