Homework

So one thing that is different with going to school, and being homeschooled is the homework. When you're homeschooled, you work on something for a while and then you're done with it for the whole day. You don't sit in a class for 45 - 60 minutes and then get more work to do afterwards.

I'll be honest. I'm not excited for the big projects that are coming up. You know. Such as the unit projects, or big tests that you have about 3-4 weeks to prepare for? We'll just see how it all works out.

This my homework for today... plus more. I'm glad that the assignments are small for now.
But then again, it is only the third day of school. :) So far so good!

School has been great! I love it! For those of you who heard me complain and complain about my locker... no worries. It works! I know how to open it quickly, and easily. Thank the Lord!

I've met a lot of new friends. I usually sit with most of them during lunch and I have a lot of classes with the friends I've met too.

Well I'm sure you'll be hearing from me again soon!

School Days

Ah school. A very familar word now. I have now completed 2 full days of high school. I absolutely love it!

I've met new friends. I like all of my teachers. My locker worked sooo much better today. Talk about taking some of the nerves away. I mean really. Who wants to be late for their second day of classes?

Of course we were right on time for our classes on Monday, because we have to take pictures.

I'll blog again soon! Right now, I'm off to watch some TV before bed. Did I tell you school wears. you. out?? Well it does.

See you soon!

First Day of High School

Well it's 6:40 am and I'm up, showered, dressed, and eating breakfast.

Today is the day. I'm going back to school (HIGH SCHOOL) after two years of homeschooling.

I'm excited.

                                     Nervous?? Yep

I just hope it goes smoothly, that I can get to my classes on time, and my locker opens easily.

Wish me luck! I'll be back later this aftertoon.

I'll write when I can...

Embroidering

So I have been working on embroidering a new towel. This past Christmas, I got quite a few towels from my Aunt and Grandma. Then, my mom surprised me with a TON of different thread colors and patterns.

These patterns, you iron onto the towel and follow the lines with your thread in your chosen color. So here's some pictures of the steps.
You can iron the towel before you iron the pattern onto it if you choose. It's completely optional. This time I skipped that part.

After that, you choose and cut out your pattern. Make sure you pin the pattern down or it can slip very easily and it won't turn out very well.

This is the pattern on the towel. It says: "Love begins at Home". I thought it would be perfect since we just moved into a new house.
This is a small glass box that I've had forever. I've used it for many different things, but now it sits on my dresser filled with threads, extra needles, and sewing scissors.

Hope this helped!

Learning to Live-Laugh-Love

Summer has gone by way too quickly. I've made some awesome memories. Made some great new friends. Lost some friends. Had sad moments. Laughed so hard I cried. I even cried so hard I laughed.

This Summer I learned a few things.

- Live -

I've learned and studied on how to live life to the fullest. To take one step, one day, one hour at a time. Somedays it's hard enough to wake up in the morning, or get motivated to read my Bible. I learned (and am still learning) that loving your life as you're living it is way better. You have to realize that we all make mistakes and we learn from them. Every. Single. Day. Plus it's more fun too.

- Laugh -

Yes, I've "learned to laugh" also. (In a way) I have laughed so differently through out my life. Then when I was 13, I became more self conscious. I didn't like my laugh, and sometimes tried not to laugh. It took me a while to realize that it didn't matter what my laugh sounded like. It's a big mistake not to laugh. Life is so more enjoyable when you decide to live in the present.
God gave me a laugh, because it's part of who I am. There's not a day I don't go by without laughing, and I don't care what it sounds like. Anyone who doesn't like their laugh, I hope you soon realize how special it is. How special God thinks it is.

- Love -

No it wasn't my dream to fall in love or get a boyfriend. This summer was a lot of fun, and I had a blast with all of  my friends. Guys & girls. It has been the most fun and memorable summer of my life so far. I've learned a lot, and hope to continue growing in my faith. This summer, all the love I've needed was from one person and that's Jesus. He loves us all the time, no matter what, unconditionally.

I'm living my life & loving it at the same time. Are you?

Open House

Open House was last night. It went pretty good! We each got our schedules, bell schedules, and met our advisory teachers. (aka homeroom teachers) Found our lockers, and tried our locker combinations. Unfortunately mine was jammed, and we had to find someone with a key to open it for me. It now works and hopefully it will work next Monday (our first day of school) and, I won't be late for my first class things will go smoothly. Here are photos from yesterday.

Notice our matching backpacks

Erin and her friend Annelise! Such pretty girls!

The beautiful sun on our way home - My mom called it an "orange in the sky".

Absolutely breathtaking

More to come soon after August 29th!

ValleyFair

So this is blog post #1 of one of the most awesome summer 2011 memories ever! I had such a blast at ValleyFair with 3 of my closest cousins, my grandparents, and my sister Erin. We arrived at about 11:00 a.m. and stayed until closing; 10:00 p.m. It was incredible!! Here are some pictures!

The weather was perfect! About 85F and sunny! We enjoyed 'The Wave' which you saw as one of the rides to cool us off. It was fun, but verrryy cold. We're dare-devils. We love challenges so our favorite rides included some of the scariest roller-coasters there. Pure energy. [Seriously! I had half a cappuchino and then went on one of the highest rides and then after wards I was jumping on benches, screaming, laughing, dancing, and singing. Who does that? Well me I guess. haha] The 'Ferris Wheel' is always going to be a favorite, because we can enjoy it with our grandparents. Who -- let me remind you, are in their late fiftes - early sixties and still are able to walk around and enjoy the day with their 5 preteen/teenage granddaughters for about 12 hours! Talk about the best family ever!

We stayed until dark, and can't wait for next year - hopefully! It was an incredible day, and I loved every minute of it!

Thanks Grandma, Grandpa, Anna, Bethany, Caycee, and Erin for a day I'll never forget! I love you all!

One More Week

One more week of freedom! Then... School is starting again! After two years of homeschooling, I'm off to a new school. I'll be starting a new adventure. I'll be attending a charter school about 25 minutes away from my house. I'm excited. I'm thrilled. Am I nervous? Not yet. Soon I will be though. Tomorrow is the school's Open House, (grades K-12th) and I'll be attending with 3 of my siblings. Tareh Jo will be staying home this year, as my mom takes on the roll of "teacher". She'll be starting Kindergarten, and so will Scout. (He will be attending the charter school though.) I can't believe another 3 months has gone by. It's been a crazy ride; this summer. I can't wait to write about it, and show you all of my great memories. My next two posts will be on the most awesome, crazy, fun memories so far of my summer!
Otherwise, I'm just sitting here at home, on the comfy recliner, with the fan blowing on my face, laptop on my lap, blogging! I love blogging. Sometimes it's my life, other times... not so much. My day was good. Went babysitting, to earn a little extra money before school starts, and I'm not babysitting 1-2 times a week. That was basically my whole year. I went to school [online], and had a "job". Babysitting. I love it! I love kids, and I've mentioned I want to be a teacher. I can't believe how quick the days are going by, as we quickly slip our last week of summer into our pockets, and continue the path of 9 months of school onto our backs. I wish I could be jumping into the air like the girl to the left, and that's how I felt yesterday with my friends. So free I could jump into the air, and feel the wind in my hair. Freedom is almost gone, and I want to take in the last 7 days as much as possible. I thank my Saviour for all the days he has given me these last few months. For they were not my days, but His.

Wishing you all a wonderful Monday!

My Sunday

My Sunday afternoon was amazing.

Had so much fun with friends! Went to a picnic by a lake and just hung out! Loved every minute of it!

My friends never ever fail to make me laugh & that's why I love them.

Me and one of my best friends Beka! We're inseparable. See each other at least twice a week.

Enjoy your last few hours of the weekend!

My Hair

I've been growing out my hair for about 3 years. It's down to the middle of my back and I love it!

My goal is to donate it once I get it cut very short for Locs of Love! It's an organization for cancer for girls who donate their hair for wigs, made for girls with cancer who don't have hair.

I'm excited, and hope to get it cut sometime soon. We'll see though... I have a mind of my own and it changes a lot. At first I thought I would like to cut it for the beginning of this school year, and then I thought no way!
I'll cut it. Eventually. Some time. I'll let you know when I do.

Happy Saturday everyone!

Blue Skies

Yesterday, I went to visit the school I'm going to attend in the fall and pick out my classes.

Then my mom, brother Jace, and I went to get a smoothie, and breakfast treat at a coffee shop.

After that, we stopped for a few things at a store. We recently moved and needed a lot more curtains because in our new house there are a ton more windows than in our old one.
With all the neighbors around us (which we weren't used to) we would like to keep our privacy on some parts.

So we found these really cute, super country curtains.

My mom loves them.

I love them.

Memories

In November of 2008 my grandparents gave me a diary or journal - whatever you want to call it, for my birthday. So for the past 3 years I've written some of my daily thoughts, and adventures in it.

No I did not write in it every day.

Just on the days that I remembered I actually had it, or maybe I just found it laying on the floor in my closet or something, and decided to pick it up.

Anyway... Today was the last day. The last day that I'm ever going to write in it again. Right before I posted this, I finished writing on the last page.

This journal has many memories, good times, and struggles written all over it.

And it's locked up, safe and sound. And where is the key you might ask? It's safe where no one will find it. :)

Yes I am definitelly a "doodler"... if that's even a word. I love to draw simple random things on any piece of paper I have in front of me. Or in this case, my journal.

Nobody's Perfect

Today is one of those days.

When you feel really bored, you're in a bad mood, feel like no one understands, or cares for that matter. So I think that when it comes to these days, we all point the finger at someone else. Saying "oh you just don't get it" or "you're not perfect".

Instead of taking a deep breath and trying to start over, we keep our "grump" with us all day. Realizing this takes a lot of patience. I know that when you're in a bad mood and you aren't a talking kind of person. You know... By just talking it all out, or explaining your mood to someone else. That you're not going to be able to release it right away.

Take a walk. Talk to yourself. Listen to yourself. Let it out.

And if you were wondering - I'm not a talking person. Unless. I trust that person completely or have known them forever. Such as my best friends.

Others might just hug it out. Ha never! I'm not a hugging person either.

It's just who I am. Like I said before, we're all different. If you don't like to give hugs for no reason I completely understand. If you are a hugging person, that's fantastic. You're unique and God made you that way. If you're a talking person then that's great too. If you're a person that likes to sit and think about it for 2 hours then that's fine. We're all different & unique.

But we must remember - Whether you like to hug it out, talk it out, or walk it out...

Nobody's perfect.

Wishing you all a stress free day!

Small Town Girl

Hey all you blog readers -

I just started this blog, and am super excited about it. You can read my "About me" page to learn more about me and my life. :) I'm no ordinary person... just like everyone else. We're all created differently, and in our own unique way!

This is going to be a short post, as I am just getting started.

Are you a small town girl? Do you find this blog interesting? Leave me a comment... I like to hear from anyone - even strangers. That's how you meet new friends; which I love by the way. FRIENDS are so important to me.

Have a great day!
